AntalgiCare™ Lumbar Therapy

The lower spine and pelvis consists of 5 lumbar vertebrae, 5 discs, 1 central sacrum and 2 pelvic bones.

The illustration to the left shows 5 lumbar vertebrae with 4 normal discs (blue) and one irritated disc (red).

Observe how the holes behind each disc are actually formed by one disc and two vertebrae. The opening (foreman) behind each disc is where the spinal nerve roots exit.

When an injured disc bulges or herniates, it typically expands backwards and into the nerve opening where it puts irritating pressure onto the soft spinal nerve root.

This is how most nerve pressure or irritation occurs. These pressures produce a variety of debilitating symptoms.

The above left image show 3 stages of progressive disc involvement. The disc protrusion and subsequent disc prolapse (herniation) creates nerve pressure which produces symptoms. The above right image shows a typical disc herniation.

The picture to the right shows a disc that is expanded onto the nerve. The decompression therapy is used to treat the symptoms resultant of the disc injury. The red arrow is pointing to a large disc bulge.

AntalgiCare™ creates a soothing decompression seperation between the vertebrae.

Traction has been used for many tears to improve spinal vertebral spacing for the purposes of reducing pressure on the disc.

Disc healing can't begin until the abnormal pressures are removed from it. Alleviating excessive pressure on an injured disc reducse the symptoms created by the disc.

AntalgiCare™ treats the symptoms created by the disc.
