Finally, doctors have an advanced treatment technology that can treat the symptoms of a herniated disc in as little as 6 weeks. The technology is new and is available at certified Antalgic-Trak® spinal treatment centers throughout the United States. Please accept our invitation to review and study these important life-changing materials. We thank you.

What is articulating spinal elongation? Articulating Spinal Elongation can be defined as an advanced form of linear (basic) spinal decompression. It is advanced because it can vary the posture of the spinal column into multiple positions during the treatment session. Standard linear decompression systems cannot.

With articulating decompression, doctors have the ability to strategically position the spine into a variety of postures that make the treatment more effective. This posturing improves how the therapy moves through the spine. It enables the decompression to reach into areas of the injury that the "older systems" miss.

How is the articulating done? Antalgic-Trak was engineered with a group of multi-axis articulating sections. These movable sections (located at the upper and lower portions of the instrument) are able to correct and improve the spine's posture during the treatment. It is a truly amazing advancement to decompression.

  • Osteoarthritis of the Neck and Low Back

What is the connection between ROM and articulation? Range-of-Motion (ROM) refers to the movement ability of joints. Simply stated, the better the movement, the healthier the joint. Each joint has a "movement" value that we use to evaluate its health. Antalgic-Trak's articulation features can improve the ROM by gently improving the gliding. This makes our joints healthier.

Is Antalgic-Trak aggressive? No! Antalgic-Trak is a gentle giant. Once the therapy begins, it rhythmically moves the spine through a series of soothing mechanical motions that improve or restore the spine's natural gliding. In fact it's so gentle the majority of patients sleep during their sessions.

Dr at deskWhat are the spine's ROMs? The spine has many ranges-of-motion. They include flexion (bending forward), extension (bending backward), lateral flexion (bending side to side) and most important, rotation. A healthy spine must seamlessly move through all of these motions without pain. Anything less may be due to an injury or may be a pre-cursor to injury.

Do your spinal joints move freely and without pain? Damage to back or neck muscles as well as spinal alignment issues can limit our spines' ability to move. Limited or painful movement indicates the need for treatment.

What makes spinal decompression different than traction? Spinal decompression is advanced traction. It utilizes a set of sophisticated computers and poundage sensors to control how the spine is elongated. The old traditional traction simply pulls the spine back and forth. But with computers we're able to customize the pull-release pumping into a specialized pattern that can rehabilitate the cartilage of the disc as well as the surrounding tissues. Traditional traction could never do this. Antalgic-Trak goes a giant step further with its ability to target tissues using its articulating features.

Antalgic-Trak can provide more therapeutic benefits!

a.JPG1. The articulation features allow the doctor to reposition the spine into a variety of postures that enable the pull forces to reach into areas of the spine that basic decompression misses.

2. Antalgic-Trak can be programmed to automatically increase and decrease its pulling poundage as the session is progressing. This is done using a feature called sequential spinal elongation (SSE).

3. Antalgic-Trak's therapy can be programmed by "distance" values or "poundage" values. Poundage values work well for elastic younger patients and distance values work well for patients that need limited stretching, i.e.: spastic muscles or the taught fibers of some geriatrics.

4. Lastly, Antalgic-Trak can adjust and vary the "holding times" of its pull and release cycling. Different holding times effect different tissues. For example longer holding times effect the disc while shorter times effect muscle and tendon. Other systems are limited to one pattern.

By using computers to control and modify the characteristics of the pull-release cycling, traditional traction evolved into decompression. The Antalgic-Trak evolved decompression even further with its unique articulation features. It has more treatment options and is more advanced than any other system in the world. Your doctor will decide which features and protocols are best for you.
